What to do if you need to make a claim

Limit Further Loss: as soon as something happens that causes loss, damage or liability, you must take all reasonable steps to protect your property, the people involved and minimise any further damage. This may involve police or other authorities where necessary.

Provide Details: complete a detailed incident report containing the third party’s name, date and time of loss, as well as a full description of the loss. Include any relevant photographs and supporting documentation.

Contact Us: advise your account manager or claim team member as soon as you can. Be aware that if you admit liability, it could be used against you later if a claim is made.

Scenario: One of our clients suffered storm and flood damage to his home. He was in a disagreement with the loss adjuster and insurer regarding some of the repairs to the property, including the delay and cost to replace the carpets, repair to the driveway and the costs involved in bringing the tennis court up to standard.
