ICARE APPOINTS NSW CLAIMS MANAGEMENT SERVICE AGENTS

Thu, 27/04/2017

icare has announced Employers Mutual (EML), Allianz and GIO will continue to provide claims management services in NSW, with QBE being advised their services are no longer required.

Moving forward, EML will be the sole claims service agent for all new claims from 1 January 2018, with Allianz and GIO to continue to manage claims with Date of Injury (DOI) up until 31 December 2017.

As we previously advised, CGU withdrew from the workers compensation scheme in March this year.

Both CGU and QBE will conclude their role as icare scheme agents on 31 December 2017.

At this stage, no freeze of the market as of 30 June 2017 has been announced, nor looks to be likely.

icare has provided a list of FAQs about the future claims service agent arrangements, which you can access by clicking here.
